Formula and worked example
Worked example
With 25 m², an illustrative entered allowance of 180 W/m², 0.5 extra cooling kW and 10% planning allowance: cooling load = 5.5 kW = 1.5639 TR. Separately, a known 5.2752795 cooling kW converts to 1.5 TR / 18,000 BTU/h. The example allowance is not an India-wide sizing rule.
Using this tool
Enter the actual equipment and project values. The Use example button loads an illustrative case. Calculation happens in your browser; no Python, API key or account is required. Use the result details to see the inputs and scope, copy the result, download CSV or print.
AC की electrical input power और cooling capacity अलग हैं। कमरे का केवल area देखकर final AC rating तय न करें; यहाँ W/m² आपका स्पष्ट planning input है।
Common questions
Can electrical-input kW be converted straight into TR?
No. TR is cooling output. Electrical input needs a valid COP/EER relationship before it can be related to cooling capacity.
Is the room allowance a standard value?
No. Enter a justified project allowance covering actual conditions. The tool deliberately does not present one room-area factor as a universal climate or building standard.
Does the result recommend an AC model?
It reports a cooling-capacity estimate/conversion. A complete sensible/latent heat-load survey, ventilation design and manufacturer selection remain separate.
