1 - What is the Maintenance? :

A equipment is kept in good working condition through maintenance activity. Maintenance activity is a repairing and maintaining work which is used for any electrical or mechanical equipment.
When a equipment is installed then after passing some times like as three months then fist of all we will have to health check. If any fault minor or major is present then it will be rectified through maintenance activity.

2 - Types of Electrical Maintenance:

Different type maintenance activity is carried out to the equipment according situation. Details of maintenance activity below mentioned.

• Breakdown maintenance
• Corrective maintenance
• Planned preventive maintenance

1 - Breakdown Maintenance:

If a equipment is running or normal working then suddenly a fault is activated on it and resultant the equipment stops working. This situation is called as breakdown condition. A maintenance activity is carried out for fault rectification and this type activity is called as breakdown maintenance.

2 - Corrective Maintenance:

If the fault is major during equipment breakdown then this fault will be rectified in weekend or outside vendor so time schedule is important for fault rectification. This type fault repairing activity is called as corrective maintenance. A schedule is fixed for maintenance as per requirement.

3 - Planned Preventive maintenance or schedule maintenance.:

When without any breakdown condition, a maintenance activity is carried out under pre planned maintenance schedule for equipment better health then this maintenance activity is called PPM- planned preventive maintenance. For PPM activity, a annually schedule is prepared with frequency as weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annually.

This PPM activity is the group of process just like as PPM schedule, PPM checklist, PPM frequency and maintenance activity.
