Types of MCCB:

A molded case circuit breaker is used for utilization in the distribution system. It is used mostly low tension (LT) panel and feeder panel. It is available as pole types, load types, protection types, and operation types. All types of details given below are mentioned.

1- According to the Power Supply:

1-AC Power Supply

• Capacity: 16A to 1250A.
• Voltage: 240 to 690 AC Volt.

2-DC Power Supply

• Capacity: 16A to 630A.
• DC Voltage: 24 to 750V DC.

1- Pole Type MCCB:

MCCB is used for three phase system without neutral three pole and with neutral four pole.

1- Single pole MCCB:

• Capacity: 16A to 250 Amp.
• Voltage: 240-volt AC.

2- Two pole MCCB:

• Capacity: 16 Amp to 160 Amp.
• Voltage: up to 690-volt AC.

3- Three pole MCCB:

• Capacity: 16 Amp to 160 Amp.
• Voltage: up to 690-volt AC.

4- Four pole MCCB:

• Capacity: 16 Amp to 160 Amp.
• Voltage: up to 690-volt AC.

2- Isolator type MCCB:

Isolator MCCBs is used for without protection device only isolation purpose like as--

• Motor load
• Sub distribution
• Isolator for bus coupler
• For VFD
• Soft Starter

3- According to breaking capacity MCCB:

Breaking capacity of MCCB is 15 KA, 20KA, 25KA, 35KA, 40KA, 50 KA, 65KA, 100KA.
